- Television has changed the American child from an irresistible force to an immovable object.
- I have a higher and grander standard of principle than George Washington. He couldn't lie. I can, but I won't.
- One man may be so placed that his anger sheds the blood of thousands, and another so placed that, however angry he gets, he will only be laughed at. But the little mark on the soul may be much the same in both. Each has done something to himself which, unless he repents, will make it harder for him to keep out of the rage the next time he is tempted, and will make the rage worse when he does fall into it.
- A revolution is coming - a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough - but a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character, we cannot alter its inevitability.

According to my father, the majority of his generation became sedentary long before video games were a household item. And if we go so far as blaming absentee parenting, perhaps we should go a step further and blame those things that forced parents away from their children. But then you know my stance on slippery slopes.
Having said all that, it seems as easy to blame television alone as to blame all things responsible at once. I just thought the quote was funny...chiefly because I find myself to be less sedentary now than at any other point in my life. You, Dave, might argue the same...or at least that your intentions are less sedentary than they have previously been.
